Microsoft to “fully support” and “co-operate” with IP-Set-Top-Box manufacturer World Multicast China, on first ever direct to home IP Multicast service. This test to take place in the city of Shaoxing China beginning in early 2005.

Shanghai China – World Multicast China announced today that it has reached an agreement with Microsoft China to co-operate in the first ever direct to the Public test of IP Multicast on an Inter-domain routing infrastructure. World Multicast China CEO Zuo Ping Zhang said referring to the pioneering nature of the event, “first we saw the light ahead, now we stand in the light” . World Multicast Technology inventor Ian A. Stewart was on hand for the meeting at Microsoft’s headquarters in Shanghai China. Mr Stewart commented, “Any time you are dealing with an emerging technology that has infinite potential you are going to have interested parties, our secure reliable IP multicast technology is the toolbox of missing links that have thus far hindered Inter-domain IP Multicast from proliferation. Now this test will change all of that. IP Multicast is the only technology built-into the current inter-domain routing infrastructure that addresses mass media on the Internet.” Mr. Stewart added, “We have dubbed our technology “Infinicast” because of its ability to support an infinite number of users from just one stream of video or audio.” He continued to expand on the potential impact of the technology, “ It is hard to imagine an infinite number of end users viewing Multicast IP-TV but just a few years ago it was hard to imagine the Internet itself. The thought of Multicast IPTV is humbling!”
On a recent trip to Shaoxing China, World Multicast China’s New York financier Arnold Lord said, “This is going to change everything! Broadcast TV, radio, and many other industries”
World Multicast China is a corporate partnership between World Multicast USA and surface mount experts Shanghai Jinsling Digial Ltd. Expect to see an announcement about secure reliable IP Multicast embeded coming from this group soon.
